Introduction

Here at Cann Hall Primary School, we are extremely proud of the work our children produce. We promote and celebrate these achievements in a variety of ways; one example is the colourful and stimulating displays, both around the school and in our classrooms.

This page of our website extends the celebrations of our children’s work. A variety of our displays will be available to see and at various points throughout the year a child from each class in the school will showcase a piece of their work.

Congratulations to all the children who have a piece of their work in our gallery. Your hard work and effort in producing this wonderful piece of work can now be seen and enjoyed by anyone in the world!

Please note: The gallery section contains a lot of pictures so may take a few seconds to load on slower connections, please be patient!

I used lots of different coloured wool in my weaving. It took a few days to finish it. I enjoyed making it.

Mia

I had to design and make a new minibeast. I call it my Crazy Creature and I cut it out and mounted it myself.

Charlie

Charlie drew a dragon using the colour magic programme. He selected different tools to create his picture including the straight line tool, flood fill jug, shapes and spray can.

Chloe

Chloe drew a picture of Shrek travelling in his onion cart using colour magic. She carefully chose which tools were suitable to make her picture. She used; the pencil, the paintbrush and the flood fill tool.

Don't Touch the Instrument !

Bobby was a happy boy, who lived in an old haunted mansion. He was 13 years old and lived with his mother. Bobby was extremely clever and funny. He had lovely blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes.

The mansion was in the middle of a forest. The trees were tall and it looked like the trees had pairs of eyes. The forest had all different noises-it was spooky. Suddenly Bobby heard a strange noise and jumped out of his skin. He peeked out from behind a tree but it was only his imagination!

Later, Bobby had just had dinner and was feeling bored. So he decided to go and explore the mansion. He tripped on a plank of wood and there underneath was a secret passage. He decided to find out where it went. As he crept along, he heard a lovely noise-it was the sound of a golden harp and it was a fairy playing it. The fairy said “I am going to get a drink, so DO NOT TOUCH THE HARP.” So Bobby touched the harp and then suddenly he started to shrink, shrink..shrink! He was soon the size of an ant and he started to cry. He ran off into the distance.

Bobby was frightened. There were tall trees and prickly bushes all around him. He heard a wolf behind him and he jumped and then ran off to get away from it. He was in his back garden at the mansion and he was screaming but his mum was sunbathing! She couldn’t hear him because he was so small. Bobby decided to go back in the secret passage to find the fairy again. He saw the harp and then the fairy. He asked if he could return to being a normal size person. The fairy looked at him shaking her head and then disappeared into the mist. As Bobby turned round, a large spider crawled towards him. He looked hungry!

The Story of Jaws

Once there was a king who lived with his son, Jaws. He ruled the kingdom of
Joe. One day his uncle Jay attacked them with a triple headed dog. He kidnapped Jaws’ father, Steven and took the keys to the kingdom of Joe. Jay said if he didn’t get the key’s back he’d burn down the kingdom.

Jaws set off to find the best sword fighter’s in the country. Then he went to build their own base to keep them hidden.

The second challenge was to find a weapon. Then he found, nine golden swords with really sharp blades in the back of a cave. One of them said, “We
Could use these against your uncle and the triple headed dogs.”

They set off to find his father. They went over hills and mountains then finally they found their base. It was in the shape off a J. They used their swords to pick the lock and knocked the door.

The final task was to defeat the even stronger triple headed dog. He snuck into the room that his father was in, and then his uncle came in the room. To settle it he had a draw his sword and fight for the kingdom. He had his chance and put his sword in his chest.

He died in an instant.

All about dragons by Amber

Japanese Spotted Dragon

Did you know such an animal, as a Japanese Spotted Dragon existed? Well if not, you’re about to find out. They are a member of the dragon family and are mythical creatures, whose feathers are lucky if held by a human and fly between Japan to china when migrating.

Japanese spotted dragons are often nicknamed J-S Dragons, since their name is long. J-S dragons are a green colour with very light red spots, which gives them the name Japanese Spotted dragons. Unlike most dragons and dinosaurs their skin is scaly but not slimy, their skin is quite dry. Their eyes match their spots, which are a dark red. Most people think they are evil, however they are quite harmless, unless protecting itself or its young. Their wings are feathered and are a light blue colour, which despite the dragon’s size and weight makes the dragon light an elegant when flying.

J-S dragons live in Japan and china, they migrate from the countries to the other. They make homes in caves, where it is usually dark and no one interferes. They also make dens and snuggle up with either a mate or family (mate and young), which keeps them warm through the night. Surprisingly, even though they are not nocturnal and fly through the air in the daytime most people never see them. Some go through their entire lives without seeing one at all. It is not that they are rare; they are just incredibly quick and graceful. There are round about 10 thousand left in the world. The J-S dragons favourite home is guessed to be their sky castles, although invisible to humans, the dragons have special homes in the sky, which suits all their special needs.

J-S dragons have a special craving for leaves and trees. Unlike most dragons who like meat, meat and nothing but meat, trees and leaves are liked by the J-S dragons, although they do like meat and they eat it occasionally. They will only eat animal meat though, just to relieve all those nervous people out there! Like we said earlier, they are harmless creatures and do not harm humans at all unless in self-defence. J-S dragons have an ability given to them from humans. Not only do they eat their meat raw like the other animals, they eat it cooked! How? Well I think your forgetting that these animals are dragons! And dragons breathe fire! J-S dragons breathe gently over the meat (only if it is dead) to “cook” the meat. Moreover, other dragons usually breathe fire over farms and forests to create havoc. Well J-S dragons aren’t like that at all. They help humans with their ability, not hinder them. Also, they drink natural lake and river water, since they don’t like disgusting polluted water.

In conclusion, after everything we’ve just heard, you have to decide whether you would like to have a J-S dragon for a friend. Well would you? Would you let a J-S dragon loose in your house (only as a baby, since an adult J-S dragon wouldn’t fit into any house of any size!)? The most important question tonight is do you like J-S dragons? I’d say yes if I were you since they have very good hearing!!!!
